‘Tis the season for giving gifts. Gift giving can mean Christmas presents under the tree, one to eight nights of Hanukkah gifts, exchanging zawadi for Kwanzaa, or the gifts you may need for office parties, white elephants, or clients. But gifts can also mean the giving of support, to yourself, to a person in need, or to your favorite non-profits and charities. There are many ways to give and receive gifts.
If you love Better Said Than Done storytelling, or love someone who does, here are some great gift ideas!
Donations
A donation, of any amount, to Better Said Than Done, supports our ability to offer low cost storytelling shows, workshops, special events, and the Women’s Storytelling Festival, online and in-person. We truly believe – and if you’re reading this, then you surely do as well – that storytelling creates a more empathetic world. Your donation, in other words, helps to grow a community built on kindness.
You can make a donation of any amount in your own name, or on behalf of a business or a person, here.
Sponsorship
If the Women’s Storytelling Festival is your favorite festival, the thing you love most about Better Said Than Done, or if you just really believe in the mission of giving voice to women’s stories and a stage to women storytellers, then sponsor the 2026 Women’s Storytelling Festival. Sponsorship, as opposed to a straight donation, has the benefit of acknowledgment through our website, social media, the festival program, and/or verbally at the festival.
You can learn about and sponsor the Women’s Storytelling Festival here.
Show Tickets
Storytelling shows are our bread and butter. It’s why we started Better Said Than Done in 2011, and how and why we persist. Each month there are so many wonderful stories shared, and some many lovely listeners joining us in our virtual and in-person audiences. Our last show of 2025 is on December 4th. Give yourself a gift and join us for “Joy to te World: A Year-End Celebration and Storytelling Show, with Recipes!” But if you’d like to gift someone a show or two, the easiest way to find one is by going to our Events Calendar.
Check out and purchase tickets to an upcoming storytelling show here.
Storytelling Workshops
Registration is open now for our five week storytelling course, with each week’s class also available as an individual registration. Give yourself the gift of creative time, or inspire a friend with our online workshops.
Read about and register for all five weeks or one night of our Winter Storytelling Workshops here.
If you love storytelling, or love someone who does, there are a ton of gift options available, not just with Better Said Than Done. Many storytellers and storytelling organizations have books (check out my latest here), workshops, festivals, shows, and donation levels available. We would love and appreciate if you are able to support us this season, but by all means, put your dollars where your heart is and support what you love most.
