Today we’re highlighting some of the amazing emcees who will be hosting our festival sessions. Like our tellers, each of them is accomplished, skillful, and able to captivate an audience. Let’s meet met four of them now: Bonnie Gardner, Jamie McElhatton, Kristin Pedemonti, and Jenn White!

Bonnie Gardner
Bonnie Gardner has extensive experience as a staff member and volunteer leader in the nonprofit sector, primarily focused on education. A former journalist drawn to storytelling, she performs in the DC area and has appeared at state festivals and the Women’s Storytelling Festival. Bonnie serves on the Better Said Than Done Board of Directors.

Jamie McElhatton
A former newspaper reporter and private investigator, Jamie McElhatton is a special education educator, stand up comedian and storyteller who performs in and around Baltimore and Washington, DC. Jamie has performed on stages for Story District, the Theatre Lab, and numerous comedy venues. Their one act play, “Duck”, was produced in 2023 by Baltimore-based Pink Pen Theatre.

Kristin Pedemonti
Story fills the Kintsugi cracks of Kristin Pedemonti’s life whether through her work as Narrative Therapy Practitioner, or Storytelling Consultant for UNICEF and the World Bank or on the stage or page. Kristin believes that stories told and listened to can and do heal.

Jenn White
An award-winning journalist and podcast host, Jenn White has worked in public radio since 1999. White hosts 1A, a nationally syndicated daily news program from WAMU and NPR. 1A is NPR’s fastest growing weekday show. It’s carried on more than 460 stations around the country and reaches at least 3.4 million listeners weekly. She is also a familiar voice on several public radio podcasts, including Making Oprah, Making Obama and 16 Shots, which chronicled the fatal police shooting of Laquan McDonald and the trial of Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke.
