SUMMARY:Recordings of the 2026 Women's Storytelling Festival
DESCRIPTION:Live performances of the 2026 Women’s Storytelling Festival have concluded\, but you can purchase $42 tickets\, through April 8th\, to watch all 16 plus hours of recordings. The videos are available to watch through April 28th. \nThe Women’s Storytelling Festival Main Page\nThe WSF Tickets Page\nThe Women’s Storytelling Festival\, produced annually in March by Better Said Than Done\, is a festival celebrating all women and gender nonconforming spoken-word performing artists. The festival debuted in March 2020 in Fairfax City\, VA. \nTHESE VOICES MATTER \nFor centuries\, the American story has centered on generals\, presidents\, and political power. Greatness has often been defined by conquest\, legislation\, and battlefield victories. \nBut history also unfolds in hospitals\, classrooms\, churches\, communities\, and factories. Mothers give birth to every generation yet rarely hold ownership over how that generation’s history is told. When women tell history\, something shifts. We see greatness:\nNot only in victory but in resilience.\nNot only in power but in empathy.\nNot only in dominance but in survival. \nEach story is written\, refined\, memorized\, and performed live. \nNo scripts. No staged readings. No fourth wall. Just a direct connection between teller and listener. \nThe Women’s Storytelling Festival is intended for a mature audience. \nThe 2026 Women’s Storytelling Festival storytellers are:\nKarin Amano\, Lona Bartlett\, Meghna Bhat\, Lyn Ford\, Neshama Franklin\, Bonnie Gardner\, Natalie Jones\, Jenn Kamara\, Nina Lesiga\, Jezrie Marcano-Courtney\, Jamie McElhatton\, Jennifer Munro\, Denise Page\, Liz Pardue\, Elisa Pearmain\, Kristin Pedemonti\, Regina Stoops\, Liz Weir\, Megan Wells\, and Hope Wilder. \nEmcees for the festival include: Elizabeth Ellis\, Bree Fram\, Sherry Grimes\, Carol Moore\, Miriam Nadel\, Mayor Catherine Reade\, Delegate Holly Seibold and 1A host Jenn White.

SUMMARY:The 2026 Women's Storytelling Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Women’s Storytelling Festival will take place March 19 – 22\, 2026\, starting with a virtual only showcase on the 19th and continuing in-person at the Sherwood Community Center\, 3740 Blenheim Blvd\, Fairfax\, VA 22030 through March 22nd. The stories shared at the first festival were no different than what you’d hear at any festival. There were folk tales\, historical tales\, personal stories\, myths\, legends\, and lying. The one difference was that all the voices were female. And that one difference was key. \nThis is a storytelling festival\, like any other. However\, when women feel safe and heard\, like we are in a space where our stories are given equal attention\, the performances\, and the stories themselves\, are different. There is a hum of feminine power that runs through the festival even when the stories are about Jack\, Coyote\, Anansi\, or that thing that happened that one time at work. We are are human. We are storytellers. We are women. Hear us tell. \nThe Women’s Storytelling Festival is intended for a mature audience. \nThe 2026 Women’s Storytelling Festival storytellers are:\nKarin Amano\, Lona Bartlett\, Meghna Bhat\, Lyn Ford\, Neshama Franklin\, Bonnie Gardner\, Natalie Jones\, Jenn Kamara\, Nina Lesiga\, Jezrie Marcano-Courtney\, Jamie McElhatton\, Jennifer Munro\, Denise Page\, Liz Pardue\, Elisa Pearmain\, Kristin Pedemonti\, Regina Stoops\, Liz Weir\, Megan Wells\, and Hope Wilder. \nEmcees for the festival include: Elizabeth Ellis\, Bree Fram\, Sherry Grimes\, Carol Moore\, Miriam Nadel\, Mayor Catherine Reade\, Delegate Holly Seibold and 1A host Jenn White. \nThe festival is available to watch online or in-person. When you purchase a ticket on our website\, whether for attending in-person or virtually\, you will receive links to watch all of the videos. So an in-person festival pass also grants the ticket holder links to watch online\, in case they miss any part of the live shows. The virtual only tickets do not grant in-person attendance.

In this humorous and historically accurate portrayal\, Megan Wells vivifies the full measure of Abigail’s contribution to our democracy.  Behind the scenes but very firm\, Abigail rode the risky edge of feminine power.  Not too much\, not too little – choose your words carefully – just right.  Relevant\, moving and wry with wit\, Megan’s Abigail awakens new perspectives of how we must “remember the ladies.” \nAbigail: Founding Mother\nMarch 14\, 2026\, 3:00pm – 4:00pm\nHistoric Blenheim\, 3610 Blenheim Blvd\, Fairfax\, VA 22030\nFree\nIntended for ages 12 and up. \nThank you to the Fairfax City Commission on the Arts for making this program possible.\n \nAbigail’s friend\, Eliza Hamilton\, will be appearing at The Women’s Storytelling Festival\, in Fairfax City\, March 19 – 22\, 2025.
