Better Said Than Done leads workshops for people of all ages to learn to share their stories. Whether trying to preserve and share family history and heritage, or demonstrate unique and universal experiences, our workshops provide foundational building blocks to take stories where they want to go.
Our storytelling shows and special events – like The Women’s Storytelling Festival – bring to the community stories that heal, expose people to diverse viewpoints, educate, preserve folklore, and entertain.
Better Said Than Done’s mission is to educate and provide opportunities for performance, discussion and community building through the provision of educational workshops and classes in the art of storytelling and the production of storytelling performances and festivals. We support the artistic development of storytellers, including community members who are new to the art form and underrepresented voices. Through performances and The Women’s Storytelling Festival, we promote public interest, knowledge, understanding and participation in the art of storytelling in and around Virginia, and in the broader community online.
